Video Power Boost

Still: Burn Out One, Rik Chaubet, 2019

Video Power introduces a two-day intensive workshop (December 16th & 17th, 2025) for work-in-progress lacking progress. Three filmmakers will work with three editors and three composers in playful ways. Instead of pursuing an outdated idea of the film-to-be, we concentrate on what’s there in the material and how that could be creatively expanded. The concrete aim for the two days is creating something raw but solid that excites the filmmaker.

What we are looking for:

  • Process-driven filmmakers

  • You are willing to re-imagine and transform your material with help from your colleagues

  • Any length, genre or experience level is welcome

  • Dutch and international submissions are welcome

  • You can be present in Banka Studios Maastricht on December 16th and 17th, 2025

What we are not looking for:

  • Commissions or traditionally scripted films

  • Films produced with a commercial producer

  • Films stuck due to productional or technical difficulties that you imagine can only be fixed by productional or technical solutions.

  • Filmmakers who cannot be present for the entire event

Application criteria:

  • A rough cut or collection of strong material (max 20 min - even if the film is longer)

  • A form-free video of maximum 3 minutes about where you stand, and what is holding you back. The video could be just you talking or include material from your work.

  • Send both videos to info@videopower.eu before 17h on October 19th, 2025.

  • To make it manageable for our team, only the first 30 submissions will be considered. Submissions after the deadline will be automatically disregarded.

Program details:

  • Both days are from 10h to 21h and include food and drinks.

  • Video Power can arrange home-stay accommodation for December 16th and 17th. Please reach out if you need accommodation.
