A film by Dario Tortorelli & Antonis Antopoulos
HARY XLab is part of a sequel of works by Dario Tortorelli.
The first part of this sequel, HARY, was created in collaboration with the Dutch Dance Days Festival, Fashionclash Maastricht and Museum Aan het Vrijthof, within the context of (OLD)Fashion(ed). HARY is a solo about the ageing body that hypnotically and endlessly moves in space to remains on your retina. This solo, for the 70-year-old Hary, was created in collaboration with jewellery artist Anke Huyben and paper crafter Leo Hoegen. The performance developed into the version HARY +++++, for five performers and was shown at the Dutch Dance Days Festival Maastricht 2014.
HARY XLab is part of the program The Art of Impact. This program is an initiative of the Minister of Education, Culture and Science. It researches the impact of art within social communities and stimulates artists to share and articulate their practices with these groups and audience.
This laboratory took place in Maastricht on the 20, 25 and 26 of September with a final presentation on the 27th of September 2015 at the Jan Van Eyck Academy.
